Some more Black Dragon monsters for your D&D campaigns!

Black dragons, also known as "skull dragons," are one of the chromatic dragon types in Dungeons & Dragons (D&D). They are known for their malicious nature and affinity for swamps and murky waters. Black dragons have glossy, black scales that blend with their swampy surroundings, sweeping, back-curving horns, and a skeletal, almost decayed appearance. Their heads are adorned with a crown of twisted, bony horns and spines, and they possess beady, acid-green eyes and rows of sharp, protruding teeth. Their bodies are sleek and serpentine, enabling them to move quickly through their watery habitats.

Black dragons prefer swampy, marshy areas and are often found in fetid, decaying regions filled with stagnant water. Their lairs are typically constructed in damp caves or ruins submerged in water, often containing traps and hidden passages that the dragon uses to surprise intruders. They have a devastating acid breath weapon, which can corrode and dissolve flesh, metal, and other materials. Being amphibious, they can breathe both air and water, making them formidable opponents in aquatic environments. Additionally, they are immune to acid, a natural extension of their acidic breath weapon.

Like all dragons, black dragons hoard treasure, though they prefer items with a dark, sinister history. Their presence can instil fear in those who encounter them, making it difficult for enemies to fight effectively. In D&D lore, black dragons are often depicted as one of the most evil and treacherous of the chromatic dragons, embodying cruelty, greed, and malevolence.
