In Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), a Mind Flayer, also known as an Illithid, is a fictional, monstrous humanoid aberration. Mind Flayers are known for their psionic abilities and their penchant for consuming the brains of other creatures, particularly humanoid beings. They are typically depicted as tall, slender creatures with octopus-like heads, tentacles around their mouths, and purplish-blue or gray skin.
